lorraine murphy | Lift the dissolution and let the branch continue to focus on their music, which they are great at and give them back their centre

Mary Byrne | I am fully behide the Clontarf Comhaltas . I think they have been treated very unjustly
Sue Esterson |
Rose Mc Mahon | Why dismiss 15 years of voluntary support , fundraising and passion for Irish music. Is this just a power struggle? The big guy putting the little guy in his/her place?

Anonymous | this dissolution is unjust
Trish Fowley | This situation should be sorted out immediately. The HQ in Monkstown seem to have too much power and are autocratic in management. Not a good idea. Congrats to all the "alternative Clontarf CCE" boys and girls who did so brilliantly in the Dublin Fladh.

kate quinn | This is a good branch, whose members are genuine carriers of the tradition.

Aidan McMahon | Stop this theft. It is an absolute disgrace.
Eleanor Kelly | It seems unfair to be excluded from the running of the centre but good luck with the campaign and hopefully the dispute can be resolved to the everyones satisfaction.

katie o connor | Comhaltas HQ need to stop the dictatorial way they are conducting their buisness - dissolving the Clontarf branch was outrageous, but it is equally outrageous to accept sponsporship money from Shell considering the terrible role they have played in Mayo. Shame on CCE. It is time for a thorough overhaul of the HQ. What sort of organization is it that allows this sort of conduct. Wake up members and take control.

Kate Ballard | The summary dissolution of a branch of 400 members of any organization is not an acceptable way to do business. This action alienates not only the members of the disolved branch, but also members of many other branches, as well as eroding the trust of all branches in the people at the CCE headquarters. The fear now exists that any branch of the CCE can be dissolved at a moment's notice for any disagreement. I support the appointment of an independant arbitrator to rewsolve any issues under dispute. I also support the development of constitutional provisions to deal with future problems of this kind.
sandra murphy | Resolve this inustice now and let the branch concentrate on its music. The clasac centre is now lying idle due to the bad management of head office who could so easily have resolved the issues under dispute if it had the will to do so. Sadly it does not appear to want a resolution with the diposed branch but wants a takeover instead.
Helen Nic Sheinicin | The loss of the vibrant and successful Clontarf Branch to Comhaltas Comhaltas Eireann, is deeply worrying to all who love and cherish traditional music and the instilment of this passion to the next generation.
Anonymous | keep clontarf comhaltas branch!
Anonymous | I have been following this situation for many months now. There has been wrong done by both sides, although CCÉ's refusal to meet and talk shows a complete lack of respect for the present members of the branch, the members who have been involved during the past 45 years and to the global musical world as a whole. I learnt all I know from being taught at this branch and have gone on to pursue a successful musical career as a result. I also taught at the branch on those cold mornings in Marino and at the bands at night in St Gabriel's. I benefited socially from being in the branch and have made many life long friends. This is the same for so many others. It is of vital importance that an independent arbitrator is appointed to deal with the situation and that the dissolution of this historical branch is rescinded. I have noticed since the dissolution that the brach has become more united than ever and that the membership has even increased. The musical talent within the branch was displayed at the recent Dublin Fleadh when the groups and bands swept the boards and there was also success for individual musicans. I feel that CCÉ felt that the branch would slowly fade away, however, this has proved not to be the case. Can we all stop being silly, stop engaging in personal feuds and bite the bullet by making some concessions for the greater good.

Anonymous | The treatment of The Reel Clontarf Comhaltas has been underhand, unbelievable and abominable. Now the self-appointed committee of the new branch want to lure away families and young musicians from the Reel (dissolved) branch with promises of classes, etc in Clasac. It won't work! The branch is completely united behind their properly elected committee and won't be 'bought' over by Labhrás' appointed crew. Please rescind the dissolution and appoint an independant arbitrator.
Bernadette Neary |
roisin lonergan | Please sort it out. Appoint a mediator now.
jenny keane | i am disgusted that such a motivated and musically accomplished branch has been dissolved just for the sake of in house politics

anne drislane | I am a local resident and I am very disappointed to see the Clontarf branch dissolved
sarah mc cabe | I am a local resident and I am saddened to see the Clontarf branch dissolved
Christine Falls | I think that the hard work done over the years by the local group in securing such a state of the art facility should be acknowledged and their subsequent treatment by headquarters is a disgrace. It is to be hoped they wil come to their senses and resolve the situation.
Alison Pilkington | A fter all the hard work of the Clontarf branch they should not be treated in the manner that they have been. I hope this matter will be resolved amicably.
