We as tenants of the Clinton Hills Community Gardens Apartments has suffered a great deal of violent crimes in our neighborhood. We was just informed that the previous armed officers fortunately we have build a relationship within the years are not safe guarding us, the community. They will come around and check on our well beings EVERYDAY. Ever since October 2012 we have experience the following: 3 shootings in the month of October. 1. Hedden Terrace after 11pm one person found shot at the front door of 104 Hedden Terrace. 2. Two separate shootings in the area of West Runyon St and Chadwick. One individual was shot right in front of 181 West Runyon. The was a homicide on October 31 right before midnight on Avon and Seymour which was gang related. In November we had numerous of shoots one during the day at around 3pm and 2 individuals was shot on the corner of West Runyon and Chadwick. The beginning of the 2nd week of November there was a drive by shooting on West Runyon and Chadwick around 5pm. The 3rd incident during the end of the 2nd week of November on Seymour Ave there was shots fired in the parking lot. In results a tenant’s window was struck by a straight bullet on Hedden Terrace. The four shootings shots was fired in the second parking lot on Seymour Ave adjacent to the building 235 Chadwick, where the individual was shot in the stomach result permanent bowel bag. The 5th shooting on West Runyon and Seymour after 10pm where the individual was struck twice in the leg in result amputation of his left leg. All this could have been preventable if we had security on the premises. We all understand due to finance restraint they can’t be here 24 hours 7 days a week. However we will need them early afternoons until the early mornings. This way the can monitor the external problems as well as clearing the hallways, which the drug dealers use as a store and storage. In conclusion this petition is being signed by all of our tenants who want their old security back.
