We, the undersigned, are aware that in the face of mounting budget pressure, programs like NOAA's Climate Stewards are in jeopardy. We want to stress the importance of having a cohort of educators around the United States who are trained in climate science by the scientists themselves. The work inspired by the Climate
Stewards program has brought understanding of one our time's most
important scientific question into classrooms all over the United
States. The program has directly impacted many students. It is
critical that this unique program continue, so that more educators
can increase awareness of climate science in more schools around the
nation.
