URGENT!!!
STOP & PAY ATTENTION
CRISIS IN CLEVELAND
Dear Citizens of Cleveland,
Concerned Partners in Education (CPIE), a grass-roots group of educators, business owners, pastors, parents, and students, has closely followed the search process for a superintendent of the Cleveland Municipal School District. The process for the Cleveland school superintendent/ CEO search has been embarrassingly mishandled. The community can have no confidence in a process that is done behind closed doors and allows for an unscrupulous candidate to become one of the top five finalists. Of the candidates identified one is outstanding! She has applied, fulfilled the criteria, and was accepted for interviews by the search firm Hazard, Young, and Attea. She is an educator and, more importantly, a resident of the Cleveland area. She currently runs two successful schools in Cleveland, Forest Hill Parkway and Early College. Out of the four finalists in the running Dr. Linda Hardwick is the only one who was eliminated, although she is the only candidate who is currently involved with our public school students. Because she is currently involved in the Cleveland district, she can “hit the ground running,” thoroughly knowledgeable of the dynamics in and surrounding our school system. Dr. Linda Hardwick has a passion for education and loves our children. She can move the district towards excellence, making the Cleveland Municipal School District great again. We need all of Cleveland to come together and become one city, one people with one mission to strengthen our children.
The education of our children is of paramount importance and we the community would like you to support our effort of giving Dr. Linda Hardwick a fair opportunity to be interviewed for superintendent of our city schools this week along with the other three candidates. We would like you to sign your name to this letter in support of Dr. Linda Hardwick for superintendent of the Cleveland Municipal School District. Please call Mayor Frank Jackson at 216-664-3990. Please call the Cleveland School Board at 216-574-8585. We want them to know that the community is not satisfied with the process and we want Dr. Linda Hardwick reconsidered for the superintendent of Cleveland schools. We can be contacted by phone 1-877-280-1644 or by e-mail cpiecleveland@yahoo.com for more reasons for selecting or more accolades for this phenomenal candidate. Please sign by MARCH 8, 2006.
Sincerely,
Gwendolyn Blake Norfleet
