Name: Ingrid Dickenson on Dec 17, 2012Comments: I wholeheartedly agree with the above statements. It is time to force the industry to give the public the facts they need to make an `informed' choice! Public ignorance regarding mobile phones and health effects has served the rapid expansion of the telecommunication industry which has a moral duty to advise on precautionary measures when using this relatively new and untrialed microwave technology.Flag

Name: Kuno Van Der Post on Dec 17, 2012Comments: SAR rating is basic product information, yet asking at the point of sale elicits puzzled looks and vague answers from salespeople. There's no reason this should be any less apparent than, say, salt content of food, or MPG for a car. Phones will still sell, it's only fair to let people know how much radiation they give out.Flag

Name: Dr Andrew Goldsworthy on Dec 18, 2012Comments: Even printing the SAR on the phone itself is not enough. Harmful effects occur well below the permitted SAR value and this should also be stated. Much of it is due to the way the radio signal is modulated to carry the information. Fortunately, there are several ways in which the signal can be modified to cancel the effects of modulation; e.g. by suppressing biologically active low frequencies in the out of band radiation to which our circadian rhythms are exquisitely sensitive or by superimposing a second mirror image signal on a different carrier frequency that will completely cancel the effects of modulation (think of noise cancelling headphones). This is all possible using existing technologies but the Industry appears to have no intention of adopting them. We can only ask why?Flag
