In rural Connecticut we have the chance to power 750000 homes with one power plant. The CPV Towantic Energy Center has already been approved by the Connecticut Siting Council and because CPV has improved the design to update the project; and because this private energy, infrastructure project represents a $1 billion investment in Connecticut’s future; and because this project will help replace older, dirtier, regional power generators and reduce the cost of electricity, while creating over a thousand jobs and substantial economic benefits for Oxford, the surrounding towns, the state and region; for these and other reasons, I support the CPV Towantic Energy Center.
