The speed of traffic on Oaken Lane is dangerous and causes a threat to public safety. Is dissuades residents from using the footpaths, children walking to school, village hall, church and accessing local shops, Crossing the road is dangerous and there is no crossing point. Paving is inadequate either too narrow for a pram or non-existent forcing a pedestrian to cross. Something can be done and needs to be done soon. Claygate is a village, a community, not a through road from the A3 to Kingston and Esher.

Jon Sturgeon, United Kingdom1 year ago Comments: Oaken Lane counts a number of elderly and disabled people (Wingham Court) amoungst it's residents. Many of whom rely on the bus stops and post box located on this road. As a resident myself I have not seen any speeding improvements from current traffic calming measures. It's time for LA action to safeguard our community.

Joanne Peel, United Kingdom5 years ago Comments: Am also worried about lack of pavement, and no suitable place to cross. A pedestrian crossing /speed bumps on Oaken Lane would hopefully slow the traffic down too.
