Name: Gang Li on Jan 5, 2005State: NYCountry: USComments: There is no funding for even one teaching aid per class, even though the class sizes are large (27-30) at Manhattan New School. I have complained it to the head of the District, but was told that only schools with less advanced students or poorer neighborhoods get tax money for hiring TAs (not the exact words). I also complaint to the head of New York City Schools. This, as I said, is leading to leave everyone behind. Why do you want the academicaaly advanced students to slow down waiting for the backward ones for whom lots more fundings are provided This is Communism, pure and simple. One of the Top performers, Manhattan New School has very poor logistic conditions. Try to compared it with Ella Baker School on E67th Street which has small classes, a huge gym and a grand sized auditorium. That is a 95% minority school. Punishing well-off neighborhoods which pay more tax is quite Communiistic. It is the kids who will suffer the most by oversized class, n TAs, bad logistic conditions just because they live in better off neighborhoods. This all tires into the 60's revolutionary agenda which dominates NYC even today. The loudest slogan is to redistribute wealth (My M.Ed program reading assignments were full of these ideals). Coming from a Communist country, I am very concerned as where we are led to today by the wealth redistributors.Flag

SHE DOES NOT GET ENOUGH ATTENTION FROM HER TEACHER BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY STUDENTS THAT REQUIRE HELP AS WELL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION.Flag

Could you in the spirit of transparency tell the public why other methods rather than reducing class size have been implimented, when there is so much data indicating the efficacy of class size reductionFlag
