Fee BellamyWhat a shame if this happens, it would be a sad indication of the shocking american type sueing system that this country has become party to.
Will Taunton-BurnetPlease do not destroy our heritage. Please assume that we can take our own decisions about risk, and can behave appropriately when confronted with such a minor risk.

Pauline RowseFuture generations must be allowed to enjoy this bridge.
Richard BathIt's vital this piece of Dartmoor heritage be saved for generations to come. It's unique, wonderful and fun.
Kirsten DayMy family and I have walked in this area for many years and have been over this bridge many times. It is beautiful, functional and makes perfect sense in its surroundings. Please, please do not remove this lovely and important part of our local heritage.

NigelRealy I am not sure that they would like to hear my comments as the truth hurts... Grow some balls
Olga EdridgeThe bridge is so much part of that landscape. How you could have built something as ugly as the new one makes the mind bogle! Al least leave Clam Bridge standing!

Toby HewisonHaving walked on Lustleigh Cleave for the last 35 years, I feel very strongly that removal of the existing Clam bridge would significantly alter, for the worse, the character of an outstandingly beautiful area, that is enjoyed by many visitors to Devon every year.

Mick KnowlesThe Dartmoor National Joke - With guys like this looking after our heritage we need all the help we can get. Our village, Lustleigh, is resembling suburbia already so why not roll out the national Park's great celebration of the mediocre.

AnonymousDartmoor's beauty is its natural, untamed ruggedness. Climbing tors can be dangerous; walking on the moor in bad weather can be dangerous, crossing a river on a basic log bridge can be dangerous. People know this about Dartmoor. People want to be challenged by the moor, they love its power. By trying to tame it you will destroy it, bit by bit.
Anthea CourtenayAs a regular visitor to Lusleigh over many years I fully support the initiative to save the Clam Bridge.

AnonymousI have extended family members in the area and have walked there and admired the unspoilt environment.

Philippa ArdingLets leave a tiny bit of 'adventure' in our walks on dartmoor. Keep the bridge as it is. I am an outdoor instructor and have crossed the bridge with groups, who are all intregued by its history and construction.
David WellsSave it.
AnonymousThat the sanctity of just such a heritage item is overlooked by the DNP is indicative of that organisation's total redundance and irrelevance today. It is the DNP that should go, not the bridge.
Francis Byng
mrs Sally BeckThe Clam Bridge is very special and should be kept as part of the history of the surrounding area.

Rex SchneiderDNPA's justification for removing Clam Bridge is that it doesn't meet Health and Safety standards. By that logic, they will also have to destroy or modify a great many other historic bridges on the Moor, such as the granite clapper bridge at Postbridge. Do they really intend to do this? If "no", then there's no justification for removing Clam Bridge. And if "yes"...we need to stop them NOW to avoid the precedent being set...

Katy CuckstonWhat madness! Why don't we just build a motorway across dartmoor and only allow people to walk on that?! Health and safety gone mad!
