With the advancement of film industry, the influence of movies on people's views is becoming more and more inevitable. And the ever increasing impact on international inclination by movies with deluded orientation and misleading images ,simply put false information, can ring an alarm that big budgeted productions like 300 movie and the way they depict ancient Persian society may have intentions of gradually jeopardizing the long acclaimed and surprisingly rich Persian culture and glorious ancient history and diminishing it's valuable legacy (namely the first declaration of human rights) in the eyes of the mesmerized and probably poorly informed global customer of this giant motion picture ruling class, Hollywood. It is hard to imagine what would our today's culture and values be without the contribution of this magnificent and humane civilization that once ruled over most parts of the world in utter peace, respecting every religion of every culture of it's empire, Or without it's great heritage of cultural pioneering at the time that the world was captivated with war-oriented lifestyle that dictated nothing more than immorality, cruelty and savagery. Maybe it is in favor of the whole world to revere the ancient nations that had remarkable contributions in what we now consider as high values of humanity and instead of being ignorant to the facts of history, try to continue the great legacy and spread the magnificent culture into the veins of a global society that may be starting to get fickle in it's roots and values and leading to a path that may not be as beautiful as what was intended by the bestowal of our ancestors.

Rumi is a part of Persian/Iranian legacy and he is inseparable from Persian/Iranian history and culture. He has been highly influenced by Persian/Iranian poetry and literature (namely by the works of Attar and Sanai) and holds the responsibility to contribute his literary works and his legacy to the Persian/Iranian literature.

What we claim with this petition is to pressurize Hollywood production of the upcoming movie about internationally acclaimed Iranian 13th century poet "Rumi" to provide an accurate researched image of Persian/Iranian culture free from any inclination towards political orientations to jeopardize world image of Persian/Iranian people and to keep in the realm of morality and honesty and most importantly accuracy in portraying anything related to Rumi which belongs to Persian/Iranian culture including :

- paying attention to and magnifying the fact that Rumi was a Persian poet and has a completely Persian Identity should be depicted as a Persian/Iranian figure.

- Rumi belongs to the Persian literature not Turkish or Roman or any other literature, and as a result Persian acclaimed history and literature researchers should consult on the project to achieve the goal.

- considering the exact image of Persian/Iranian community with regard to portraying the exact costumes, culture, language and any other aspect of the image representing Persian/Iranian community

- considering literary spirit of Persian/Iranian community and their poet loving nature and mystical and astonishingly beautiful and rustic culture of people of all walks of life of 13th century of iran.
