On June 21st, in Savannah, Georgia, a 7yr old boy was severly mauled by a Pit Bull on a public playground. The dog was 'accidentally" let out of the car by a young boy who was left in the car with the dog; presumed to be son of the owner. The dog was returned to the owner and no liability was posed to the owner. This child will be scared for the rest of his life physically and mentally. The pit bull and family just went on about their normal lives as if nothing had happed. We have to bring justice to these children that are mauled and/or even killed by these and other viciose breed animals. Please join me in my efforts to pose some stricter laws and ordinances to these owners: 1.Pit bull owners have to register their presence in neighborhoods where there are block clubs. 2. The must insure their dog for atleast $50,000 along with their home owners insurance in order to be able to compensate victims of their dog's attack. 3.While dog(s) is in backyard the fencing must be between 8' to 12' tall, in a pen with roof or an invisible fence. 4. When dog owner moves into a neighborhood where there are children or other smalls they must make the community aware of the dog's presence by posting a "BEWARE OF DOG" sign in front yard or on backyard fence. 5. If the owner is not in compliance with any of these ordinances they will be faced with a $2,000.00 fine. Thanks for help with this plight.
