Comments: Law Courts has been a fantastic venue for salsa dancing for over a year now. We were wondering if you could explain the reasoning behind closing down this venue. If there is a specific problem, can we solve it by other means Please, allow us to continue!

Comments: It's a wonderful place for dancers to meet. The dancers barely drink any alcohol if at all and are there to enjoy the dancing. We would sorely miss this event. Also please note that in the last few weeks we have only had this venue and that now with the additon of two other nights there will be fewer people attening of Friday at the Law Courts

Comments: I have been going to salsa at the Law Courts for well over a year now, and never once have I ever witnessed or heard of any problems resulting from the number of people at the site. People are there to dance and make friends, not trouble.

Comments: The Law Courts was a beautiful venue that I felt proud to be a part of both in dancing and working as your bartender. It is a great loss to the Salsa Dance community and it would be wonderful to have this venue back.

Comments: What a disappointment to be told that Salsa won't be held at the law courts and even more shocking that I won't get a couple more times to go there. I had planned an outing with some friends for next month and the dancing was part of it. I hope that I don't have to go back and inform them that salsa has been kicked out without much warning. Please reconsider. Thank you.

Comments: I am a regular salsa dancer who attends the Law Courts on a weekly basis. From my vantage point, there has never been any problems with rowdiness, excessive noise, altercations, etc. I think this is a fantastic location and I hope the Law Courts reconsider their decision. Thanks Doug Wong

Comments: Friday night salsa at the Law Courts had a great community feeling - people of all cultures, ages, and abilities gathered together, having fun and moving their bodies. I find everyone very respectful of the venue - this is not a typical bar scene, with no drunkards (it hinders the ability to dance, after all!). I am sad to see the end of a wonderful weekly event that so many people enjoyed. I ask that the Law Courts Inn provide their reason for shutting down salsa, and re-consider their decision.

Comments: I would be interested in learning more about the reason the law courts are no longer available for the Friday night salsa events. This was a well organized event with a positive environment and none of the typical night club/bar drinking problems, just a fun night of dancing at a great place.

Comments: The Law courts is a great venue for the public, there is such a great demand for a social event such as the Salsa Fusion Fridays. We do not understand why this is happening, this event has been long running and one that many individuals enjoy and would love to continue to do. Thank you for helping to keep this event alive and prosperous.

Comments: The Law Courts has been the largest, safest, and most sophisticated and enjoyable social dancing venue I have seen in Vancouver since I started dancing in 1998. Unlike night club venues, rarely if ever have there been negative incidents during Salsa Fusion Fridays. It is also within walking distance for me and many of my latin dancing colleagues. Please reconsider your decision to close down this event at the Law Courts Inn. Best regards, Karen Hamilton

Comments: The Salsa community in Vancouver is positive, non-violent and enthusiastic. The Venue at the lawcourts is one of the nicest in town and the loss of access to it will diminish the fabric of nightlife in Vancouver. What a loss. Please reconsider.

Comments: This is by far the best salsa dancing venue in town. I've never seen any problems on any of the Friday night dances I've been to. Everyone is always friendly. Closing this down would only add to Vancouver's no-fun image (and reality).

Comments: Why would you discourage people from coming downtown to such a great venue. We travel from the interior and are always looking for a place to dance that is within walking distance. Are you going to leave the downtown to the street people If this city is not living it will continue its decay!

Comments: The Law Courts is the best venue on the West Coast for salsa. It adds culture and class to the city, and would be a shame for it to be shut down. It is not a club, nor does it have a club atmosphere; there are never any problems, fights, or excessive drinking. Please consider keeping this vibrant event at the Law Courts.

Comments: I started dancing on February 2006. It has been an amazing experience. Dancing has become a very important part of my life, not only in terms of physical fitness and mental health, but also as a means of self-expression and a great way to socialize and meet new friends. Fridays at the Law Courts have been an excellent way to end a week of hard work and to start the weekend literally on my "right foot". I live downtown so it's great that I don't have to drive, and can just walk there and meet my friends and spend a few hours of good clean fun. Most dancers don't smoke and don't drink...if you drink you can't spin. It is wonderful to go to a beautiful downtown venue where the atmosphere is good, and healthy. Where as a single woman I feel safe, not only while at the dance floor but also when I leave the premise, as it is right downtown (and off granville street). The people are nice and it's just great to go and have fun without people being drunk and obnoxious and fights breaking out and the many unpleasantries that are a constant happening in many other venues. I really hope that the decision is reconsider and to let the salsa dancers of Vancouver have a great place to go and gather and dance. Dancing is good for the body and soul and heck! maybe all of you should come and give it a try.
