We, Citizens Opposing Otero Withdrawal (COOW), are solely unified as a proponent for responsible use of our public lands. Hereby, we (COOW) formally petition Kirtland Air force Base for full disclosure of any potential danger posed by unexploded ordinances in the current withdrawal portions of Otero Canyon; in particular, those sections extended by well established "paths" that are not clearly regarded as "unsafe."  Furthermore, if it is reasonably assumed that there is no apparent danger to humans or wildlife, and if there is no reasonable threat to our nations security that accompanies such findings, we would appreciate any leniency that could be extended by way of access to previously established trails, and roads, prior to the most current withdrawal decision, when it was permissible for the purposes for logging.
