Texas wants to secede. They have collected over 100,000 signatures in support of it. I think that many of us in the rest of country would welcome this change. In the same way that Texas feels as though the rest of the country is at odds with their beliefs, they are a huge hindrance to our ability to govern ourselves how we seem fit.

Imagine a US where we don't have Texas' 38 electoral votes - a US where people in other countries don't characterize us as Texas rednecks. Then Texas can educate all the want on creationism, ban abortions and set their standard of living on their own.
