For Too Long Canada has been a Haven for Criminals free to Victimize at will because of Canada's backwards Gun Laws. Gun Control laws only serves to empower criminals and victimize law-abiding citizens and gun owners. Statistics have proven they actually make situations even more dangerous by ensuring all law-abiding citizens are unarmed and thus easily targeted and victimized by armed violent criminal offenders. Should the Federal Government fail to act upon recognizing and rectifying the violation of the Constitutional rights of the people of Canada who signed this petition in due course,then we shall make our discontent widely known at the ballot box in the next Federal Election in Canada. We are calling for the abolishment of Bill C-68 in its entirety,(with the exception of the criminal record check,firearm safety classes,and licencing aspect of the law) and we are calling for the enactment of Concealed carry laws, which would include course training and qualification testing- prior to Concealed Carry licence issuance and strict conditions and guidelines attached even when a Concealed Carry licence is issued. America has had Concealed Carry laws since the 1980's, it is time that Canada get with the program and empower its own citizens to aid police in preventing crime by acting Concealed Carry laws to act as a very "Strong Detterant" to criminal activity in our major cities. Please be advised that we do not advocate any forms of vigiliantism,or any such rediculous notions- but do feel that civilians (especially in regards to women) should have the right to have the means to defend themselves against attempted murders and violent rapes. We ask the question "Are our American neighbors to the South somehow more responsible that their government trusts them to be armed in public yet Canadians must be under this constant nanny-state and be treated like helpless,ignorant children by our Government simply to appease the Liberal left for votes ? ...Lets face it Gun Control has nothing to do with Public safety because it has absolutely no effect against criminals and solely targets the law-abiding.
