Are we, as humans, that materialistic that the life of an elephant is less important than something to be bought made from ivory. Disgusting!! Stop the Sale of Ivory Stockpiles!Flag

Name: Doreen Harkins on Jul 24, 2008Comments: This is absolutely appalling! My heart cries out for the elephant lives that have already been taken whose tusks are amongst the ivory stockpiles and the thought of those who will die in the future for the greed of humans for their ivory. The families that have been torn apart through poaching and culling and all the baby elephants made orphans through the intentional killing of their mothers by humans. It is not our God-given right to take the life of another living being, why does man think it is I cannot comprehend this nor the decision to sell the ivory stockpiles which everyone knows will certainly cause the horrible death of more of these beautiful creatures, to be shot down and have their faces hacked apart for the sake of their teeth. Find something else to carve statues out of, you don't need the ivory now or ever!Flag

Name: Colleen Perrin on Jul 24, 2008Comments: It is outrageous and indecent that China has been granted the sale of this stockpiled ivory. This decision is immoral and only leads to unnecessary death and untold suffering of elephants and also people as ivory sales fund militias. China needs to give up its thirst for ivory and fast.Flag
