Keep Skills Class at Cedar Island

The petition

District 279 proposal as passed March 11 stated the following for special education site programs: "Cedar Island: Provide two K-3 Skills. Result is no change in number of classrooms" and "Oak View: Move out two Connect Classrooms. Move in one Skills Classroom and one ELL classroom. Result is no change in number of rooms used for Student Services site programs." It is unfair to our "Skills" students to decide to move them across the district to Zanewood Elementary when the program is successful and well received at our school.

We would like to see the administration stick to their original policy which was approved by the board in March and keep Cassie Popeh's and Jay Lokken's Skills special education classes at Cedar Island/Oakview as it is in the best interest of the students.
