Name: Nathan Baird on Nov 25, 2012Comments: You WILL NOT find a person who cares more about the football program at Idaho Falls High School and the character and integrity of players than Coach. He is a great man, who influences young people's lives throughout the years and for many years to come. He has influenced and changed my life for better as he has hundred of other athletes and students. I totally support Coach Chuck Johnson.Flag

These lessons would be- to build character, to accept defeat as graciously as one accepts victory, to persevere in the face of diversity, to build everlasting friendships and to learn how to be part of a team. Coach Johnson gets what football is all about. He teaches life lessons to his athletes- if they are winning or losing. So to all you haters, join a sport's team so you can learn how to have some character. Maybe, Coach Johnson will be gracious enough to coach you. He would need a significant raiseFlag

Name: Deanna Baird on Nov 26, 2012Comments: Chuck Johnson is a great man who helps young men become better. He is an example for good. He is a motivator to all who know him. He cares about the students of Idaho Falls beyond the field. The performance of the team isn't ever just the head coach. It is the willingness of all the players to follow the direction and the plan that the coach gives them for each game. We need to show support to all coaches who coach or the lack of respect for the coach shows on the field. Isn't it sad that we care more about winning the game than about a person and his job.Flag

If the people who put this petition together pushed their kids as hard as they are pushing to get Coach Johnson fired, this wouldn't be an issue. If your kid is so special, you would drastically improve his chances of that division 1 scholarship by sending him to a private school in California.Flag

Name: Shane Leland Hunter on Nov 26, 2012Comments: Coach J is a great man that helps these young men learn a lot about who they are and what they can become. I agree with Brittney that it is not all about wins and loses. It is about helping shape these boys into men. Coach Johnson is a great family man that lives his faith. I am grateful for the chance I had to play for Coach. He taught me a lot and was a great example to me of what a good coach is. He cares about these kids and he cares about the school. If people are really trying to backdoor Coach Johnson I would hope they would look at what message they are sending to their children. Rather than tear the program down why not do everything you can to lift it up. Give your support of the team and the coach and that way everyone can be successful. It is amazing what people can do when they come together in a gretter cause than themselves. Go Tigers!Flag

Name: Jaylee Patterson on Nov 26, 2012Comments: Coach Johnson is a rarity in the world of sports as he truly cares about the players on and off the field. I have personally seen the impact he has had that goes from coaching to friend to mentor. At the end of the season only one team can win it all, but the lessons learned from Coach Johnson have changed many lifes on and off the field. Keep Coach Johnson as the head football coach at Idaho Falls High School, he is one of the good guys and the school, players and families in the community need a positive influence.Flag

Name: Kimball Burton on Nov 26, 2012Comments: There is more to high school football than winning. I feel like those parents (and students) who feel otherwise are very shortsighted and are missing out on the lessons and skills that can be gained through fair, athletic competition, that is fostered by a caring and loving Coach/mentor. Chuck is a fantastic man who brings out the best in the boys who play for him. He is honest, forthright, and is a man of great integrity. I loved my time playing for Chuck and would love my son to play for Chuck as well, even if my son's team had a losing record. It's not all about winning. It's about young men developing and growing and maturing into men through the sport and through the role models that teach them.Flag

Name: Alejandro Ponce on Nov 26, 2012Comments: Chuck is a great man, mentor and coach. I had never met anyone in my life that has so much passion and exemplifies what IFHS is all about. Anyone that has ever had the pleasure to be coached by Chuck knows he demands nothing but the best from you and is more than willing to help you anyway he can even if it means cutting time with his family or coming in on a Saturday to get an extra workout in. The man has, is, and will always go above and beyond to help in any way he can. Good luck, really, GOOD LUCK in finding a better replacement that will fill those shoes.Flag
