The point is, they don't have a school, and if they did, it would be the only school there really. As usual, our children are the last on the list of priorities.Flag

Name: Shelly Fletcher on Mar 13, 2008Comments: I have already signed this petition, if I could sign it 100 times I would, my heart is breaking everyday, I got tired of crying and praying, I still cant believe this is happening in my country, these things happen in the third world. I am writing letters to the press and I am on my second day of a hunger strike, I gave up my job, I visited Attawapiskat and I saw the conditions there and I listened to all the problems that are there, I am a first nation mother and grandmother and this kind of stuff has to stop..mr. strahl has to step up or step down, that's why I'm doing this..miigwetch..a heartbroken Indian in the South who cares.Flag

It wouldn't take a month for a reality check!Flag

Name: Esther Ling on Mar 20, 2008Comments: Mr. Strahl, I am not Native, but I have experienced first hand the conditions on reserves in Canada. It was appalling for me to realize that in a country like Canada so many people live in conditions that are prevalent in 3rd world countries. I agree with Mr. Nakogee. Go live there for a month and invite others to go with you. It might change public opinion on how "good the 'Indians' have it."Flag

It is stated that when the time comes for you to enter the spirit world you will be asked this question: How many people did you help and how well. For your immortal soul ask yourself this question.Flag

Name: Pauline Duncan on Mar 23, 2008Comments: Please do what is right for the people of Attawapiskat First Nations. How can we talk about Canada being a great country when we have such issues right here for our own people. How do we justify sending money to other countries where people are starving and lacking daily basic needs when we perpetuate it right here in our own country. I believe we should help other countries but first we must take care of the situations here at home.Flag
