We, the people of Los Angeles and others throughout the world, wish to offer you the Firefighters and other personnel involved, such as police and helicopter pilots, our deepest thanks and gratitude for the incredible dedication and courage you displayed in fighting the devastating fires at Griffith Park on May 8, 2007 onwards. We do not take your courage for granted. We know that you risked your lives to protect us, our animals and property. In return we send you our deep appreciation and prayers for your continued protection and safety. We also want to thank all Firefighters, Police, Rescue Workers and others throughout the world for all the other difficult and dangerous work you do on a daily basis to serve and protect us, the public. We believe that your work is a demonstration of true humanity - that of risking your life for another. Your example is a shining light for us all and we thank you and keep you in our prayers, no matter what our religion, belief or creed.
