Petition summary and background:
The Schools Adjudicator has recently made a ruling that Rugby schools review their admission's policy. The likely outcome of this would mean that children from Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Coventry and some Warwickshire locations currently included in the Admissions criteria could find it harder or even impossible to go to the Rugby school of their choice. The new arrangements are likely to commence from September 2010 and will affect the present year 5 children and below.Your children will then have little opportunity to have the choice of attending one of the Rugby schools. A local group called 'Choices for Children' has been set up to challenge this proposal.
We believe that the current admission's arrangements for Rugby Schools should stay as they are so that parents in Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Coventry and part of Warwickshire can continue to choose which secondary school they would like their children to attend. We therefore urge you to sign below in support of our position.
