For the past 7 years choir at Bassett High School has sang The Star Spangled Banner for the graduation ceremony. Those past 7 years it has been a success because the choir students work hard on it every year to sing to their loved ones, family, friends, and peers. Well this year we have been stripped of that privilege with no explanation. The only thing we understand is that the principal wishes to have a soloist of his choice sing the national anthem accompanied with the band. Its not a bad idea but the choir has done it for so long and it has been successful every year. if it isn't broken why fix it? i would like to ask mainly seniors to sign this petition if you wish to have choir sing the national anthem because its the seniors graduation ceremony not the principal's, he already had his. any family and friends of seniors are welcome to sign this petition as well.Please help give back the chior what is rightfully theirs.
