You don't realize how important a law is until you are put in a position that you need to use it like the Amber Alert and are told you don't meet the standards.

When the two young girls went missing from Iowa they did not have an Amber Alert issued due to no suspect or vehicle. Therefore, we need mandated tools so that when any child goes missing there isn’t a delay on what kind of alert will be used. Children are being taken away from their loved ones every 40 seconds in the United States by either a family member or a stranger. We need to get aggressive and change these statistics.

Bruce Braley Iowa Rep. & President of The United States
We strongly recommend that a common missing children’s alert be adopted to ensure that all missing children be treated with the same urgency.

Data research shows that there are many different child alerts used across the United States. Amber Alerts are issued, only with having a suspect and/or vehicle. However, it is important to issue a Child Alert law, even when those two factors are not present.
Law officials are required to follow those specific criteria, which leaves out other lost children. However, the final decision does fall on the
Law enforcement officer in charge.
What I propose is all sates have a missing child alert that they use immediately to alarm the public.
There are many different missing child alerts available. One that I have researched is A Child Is Missing. .http://www.achildismissing.org/.
It is fast and reaches many residences and businesses in a short time.
Please take time to look at this. This is a free service and it serves more than 50 percent of the United States. However, if there could just be a clause put in the Amber Alert that would protect the children who fall through the Amber Alert cracks, This would give a missing child the hope that they will be found safe.
Thank you,
