Comments: I am very disappointed in the liberal democrats and Scottish National Party Councillors for voting to cut this funding. Mairi MacLeod the Development Officer has offered me support and encouragement in improving my Childminding Service and helping me to attain qualifications that without her support I would not have been able to achieve.

Comments: How are parents to be reassured of their childrens safety and well being if wonderful people and services like this are to lose funding to do their job to the best of their abilities. I bet that those not widhing the funding to go ahead do not have the need of this wonderful service and so see it as unimportant.

Comments: The people who have withdrawn the funding for this position clearly have no idea how solitary childminding can be and how much childminders rely on the amount of support they receive from the Development Officer.

Comments: Childminders provide a vital childcare service which helps working parents return to work. Every local council should think about the impact on the lives of working parents if there is not enough childcare options in their area, before they make cut funding which supports childminding.

Comments: I feel that in this day and age that quality childminding is so valuable, how can removing this post do anything but damage the future generations upbringing and stability. Removing anyone from such a post, with years of experience is just ridiculous.

Comments: Childminders are a very precious comodity to our country and to cut back on services in anyway will wildly disrupt many peoples lively hoods and not just that of the childminder themelves

Comments: You don't have to be a saint to be a childminder - but it helps. It certainly has to be one of the most taxing jobs around, - both mentally and physically demanding - and to take front line support from our childminders doesn't make any sense whatsoever!

Comments: This is an extremely short-sighted move by Perth & Kinross Council. This role helps us mothers to have comfort that Childminders are adequately trained to look after our children - obviously the proposers to such a move are childless! Disgusted!

Comments: Since Mairi Macleod came to office she made a massive impact on the co-ordination of Childminding in this area. We were made aware of current developments and sent details of relevant courses. It would be a retrograde step for the service to lose this post after her good work

Comments: Mairi is an important tool to smooth running of the role as a childminder. We are ofter isolated and some of us have no one else to turn to when we have any problems. Mairi has often offered to come to see me personally. This fills me with confidence and allows me operate knowing that I have her support. Without this we may find a decrease in childminders due to this lack of support therefore government will be contradicting everything that they said they would do. WHAT A SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!

Comments: Without quailty childminders the worries for our childrens care increase and decentrallising it is a service that hard working people will have taken away while others that don't want to work are services that are not questioned!!!!
