My name is Charmaine. I am a married woman with two young children. My family (like many) have become a vicitm of an unfair child support system.
I have recently read up on the subject and was shocked when I discovered just have unjust this system is. My husband has an order of support and almost a third of his support does not go to the child. This \"formula\" that is supposed to benefit a child is making the state wealthy and it shouldn\'t. Cracking down on so called deadbeats is one thing, however punishing men is another. Most people do not know that men have very few righs. These same men are going bankrupt like my husband & I do not understand how it is legal to financially drain a man (woman in some cases)to make the state money that my family does not owe.
I am tired of hearing horror stories of men everywhere that are barely getting by. I would like to see this information reach the masses so that the fathers that are NOT deadbeats can live without being punished. I need some help with that. I stand behind everything that I wrote in this petition and I do not intend to stop pressing this issue until something changes.
