Date: 01/31/13 We, the citizens of this city of Richmond and surrounding counties, herein, respectfully request that Police Chief Bryan Norwood remain in his position as Richmond’s Chief of Police. We sincerely appreciate his outstanding and committed work in helping us to fight crime by organizing and inspiring his department and our neighborhoods to join together in this battle. Through Chief Norwood’s leadership, he has been able to galvanize the community by bringing diverse groups together with the goal of reducing crime, thereby increasing the quality of life for the citizens of Richmond. The coalition formed by Chief Norwood and his associates at the Richmond Police Department, in partnership with the Faith Leaders of Richmond and surrounding counties, has made a direct and positive impact in the high crime areas of public housing communities. As a result of his strong and committed leadership, violent crime has been reduced each of the four years he has served as chief. We herein respectfully request that he and our Mayor hear our plea that Chief Norwood remain in the position as Chief of Police in City of Richmond.
