There has been many comments and suggestions as to what name should be given to the park should our petition succeed. Many have voiced their opinions that naming the park after Chelsea King might create a "negative" connotation and create a sad atmosphere to an otherwise happy place. Therefore it has come to our attention to open this discussion on what to rename the RB community park to. First of all, the ultimate name of the Park will depend on the King Family. Concerns that naming the park after their daughter might serve as a constant reminder of the painful memory of her loss are legitimate. However, we must consider that Memorials everywhere are named after certain people to remind future generations of the positive legacy of the dedicated people. The park should be viewed as a reminder of Chelsea's existence and beautiful memory as the amazing person she was, and all of her potential for who she would become. Whether we want to or not, we will always remember what happened,...
