Comments: I agree with all of the above. I have often seen deer, bats, woodpeckers and other wild animals amongst the trees. It is a great source of entertainment for both my young children. One of the reason we bought our house was because of the view we had of these trees and I feel strongly that they are allowed to remain so they continue giving joy to the local community and provide a suitable habitat for all the established wild life in the area.

Comments: Developers profits before the community’s needs. Why build a house here Do we need another house This area is lovely just as it is. As a family we spend time on summer evenings around the pond and especially in this woods, trying to spot the bats and generally just enjoying the area. It should not be allowed. I hope our local councillors help out with this. We should all let them know how we feel.

Comments: As a child I enjoyed playing in and around the woods and duck pond. I particularly enjoyed the local wildlife that could be seen, including badgers, foxes, deer, birds, bats, ducks and geese. To this day I still enjoy the idyllic sanctuary this area provides, and often on walks see families enjoying this area. I remember the area winning awards in the past; it would be a great shame to loose it.

Comments: In building terms this would be a very small plot indeed....hardly worth the destruction of hundreds of years of wildlife! Save the woodland, preserve our local heritage.

Comments: One of the very strong attractions for us when we bought our house was the peace and quietness of the area with the lovely woodland and duck pond just up the road. This woodland provides a great deal of enjoyment to the local residents. The children, especially, have a naturally designed safe play area, which is frequently used. It also provides a haven for wildlife within the neighbourhood not enjoyed elsewhere. Please do not allow this natural beauty to be destroyed.

Comments: This area of woodland is literally over the road from, and in direct view of Chells Manor, which is a Grade II listed building. It forms an integral part of the surrounds of Chells Manor, along with the pond. It also forms part of a natural corridor, bringing wildlife into the area from fields to the east of Stevenage. The felling of these trees would be a great loss of amenity, do huge damage to local wildlife, and severely damage the image of Chells Manor building.

Comments: This woodland benefits the whole community, residents and wildlife alike. It is one of the reasons I chose to live in this area as it had some natural spaces and was not overcrowded. We are supposed to be planting trees to help with the problem of global warming, not cutting them down.

Comments: These Woodlands that are dotted around Stevenage are what makes sets our town apart from other new towns . We enjoy them with our grandchildren and also we are able to sit in our garden and watch the bats flying around. All these small pleasures are essential for our wellbeing and are gradually being lost. Please save our wildlife and trees.
