    Comments: I am an adult with CHD and have found no health information about my medical situation or recognition for the unique needs I have as an adult with a congenital heart defect from the American Heart Assoiciation. I am 43 years old and I go to a Childrens Hospital for my MRI's. Imagine yourself in a pediatric waiting room seeking the same medical care as a 3 year old. It's very unnerving. Please honor our request and make February the Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Day a national event. We need to bring focus to the complex problems adults have when they "age out" of their pediatric cardiologist's care. Sincerely, Sharon Hulihan

    Comments: As a person who has worked with children with chronic special health care needs for the past over 30 years, all you have to do is know one family who has a child with a significant congenital heart defect to know that there is justification for this cause. My own nephew lost a child to Transposition of the Great Vessels. To those in power to affect this issue, please have a heart so babies will live.

    Comments: We recently learned that our first grandchild (our daughter & son-in-law's first child, due in May, 2004) has congenital heart defects. We suddenly realized how little we know about these problems. We also found out that many hospitals do not have pediatric surgeons on staff to repair these problems, even though surgical intervention (often within a few hours of birth) is often the baby's only chance for survival. Please help us bring more attenton to these life-threatening problems, and more hope to the babies and families who are devastated by them. Thank You - Jan & John Hendricks
