Tell the City of Chaska...
NO BALLPARK IN MY FRONT YARD!
The City of Chaska has approved a new project that would convert an open parcel of land in close proximity to several homes in the Chaska Points West neighborhood into an “Adult/Babe Ruth” baseball park, complete with lights, dugouts, fencing and bermed seating. This ballpark is part of the overall plan for the Chaska Veterans Memorial Park project.
This petition is sponsored by several residents who will end up with a noisy and bright ballpark located directly in their front yards if the project is not altered.
The goal of this petition is to block the project in its current form and force the City of Chaska to redesign the park, excluding any type of large sports facility. In place of the ballpark, it is our wish that the City install an open grass field with playground equipment - something that is sorely needed in the neighborhood, and is what was originally requested by the residents in 2005.
There is no opposition to the Veterans Memorial or other portions of the park design except the ballpark.
The residents sponsoring this petition have many serious concerns about the ballpark portion of the project, including close proximity to homes, decreased property values, safety, increased traffic, parking, light, noise and late hour games.
It should also be noted that the City of Chaska failed to make the residents in the immediate area aware of the proposed plan prior to the City Council's approval of this project.

Please help us by signing this petition to block the project. We will be submitting the petition to the Chaska City Council on November 19th, and can use all the support we can get!
Thank you for your support!
