Since then, my service goes out about ever 15 minutes for 1 minute. I've had 20 techs out and they say there's no problem with the line. I've disconnected the cable modem from the router and direct to a pc; same behavior. They basically gave up on me. Their techs are idiots. I believe I was suffering packet loss, but no one at charter is capable of using monitoring software to see at which relay station the packets were being lost. ALL CHARTER IS, IS THE COMBINATION OF FUCKING IDIOTS THAT MAKE IT UP. I ALSO INQUIRED ABOUT HDTV. I ASKED A FEW SIMPLE QUESTIONS. A. WHAT TYPE OF CONVERTER BOX WAS USED. B. IF IT HAS A DIGITAL OPTICAL OUT. C. THER SITE SAID FREE TILL THE END OF 2003, AND THE REP TOLD ME THAT THAT WAS INCORRECT. MIND YOU THE "FREE TILL THE END OF 2003 WAS ON THE MAIN PAGE. Now I happily give them $100/month. I have just contacted SBC and have pretty much decided to go with their DSL package and can Charter completey. Charter sucks! I have contacted tech support numerous times with little result. I feel Charter is sneaky and underhanded. Your upload speeds are terrible and I will bet you cap uploads/snoop packets and whatener else it takes to maximize profits and conserve bandwidth. I finally forced them to make an appointment to come check our area out in person, and the repair guy said it was the whole local area. Said we needed a booster for our area, which he made an appointment for his company to do. I signed this petition 11 months after this, the situation has not been fixed.
