Comments: Less students in the class, more learning takes place. It's as simple as that! To stay competitive as a nation, we need to provide our children the best possible education.

Comments: Please consider creating a mitigation fund for school system capital costs to which developers must contribute if they do substantial expansions to their properties or new construction that will impact local schools and their catchment areas. The fund should receive contributions from developers who build as-of-right as well as those whose projects must go through the S/CEQR or ULURP processes.

Comments: Greetings. I am a HS teacher in one of the surviving Alternative HS's. From the beginning the Alternative HS district's mission was to provide the small group academic & affective attention that our stuidents who are at risk NEED. These students who are the most needy and the most at risk of becoming a liability to society are not "bad", they simply march to a different drummer. Some as a result of the environments from which the come, others from unrecognized learning or emotional disabilities and others from the lack of individualized attention. There are many many other factors and combinations of factors, but to remediate any and all of these requires us to be able to provide a smaller teacher to student ratio than we currently have. Our numbers over the years have stadily crept up to the traditional school level. It makes it impossible for us to do what we do best- serve our kids. It is frustrating, nerve wracking and heart breaking not to have enough of me to possibly wear as many hats as I have to wear and be as proficient as I believe I should be. I am also the parent of a student attending Talent Unlimited HS. From the eyes of a parent I want to demand that my child be able to get that which is "normal" in school districts outside of NYC; despite knowing the realities of learning in NYC schools. We, as parents & teachers see both sides of the coin. I ask that you support the creation of the Class Size Charted Commission.

Comments: I urge you to support our efforts to reduce class size. Our children are our future, and they are being too short changed by the city of New York.
