Comments: I lived in Charlton up until adulthood and have regretfully seen the village deteriorate over the years. I remember Cullens, Paddy the hairdresser, Les Harding's greengrocery, Lusby's the butcher, Deekes hardware store the Jones who had the post office. A cafe or tea room in the heart of the village will bring additional life to the village and help resist further deterioration.

Comments: A cafe or deli would really help to encourage s sense of community by providing an enjoyable venue where locals of all ages could meet. It would also encourage more people to the area thereby providing much needed commerce. Most locals I've spoken to are in favour of such a scheme--the council should be listening to them!!

Comments: My Grandfather was the Licensee of The White Swan. I believe he had an interest in The Bugle Horn too. The house where my Father was born was opposite The White Swan. I visited there some years ago. My Son Visited there yesterday. He E-Mailed me to say I could find this Site on GOOGLE.

Comments: Charlton Village is just as pretty as Blackheath and parts of Greenwich, a deli or cafe would make it more of a tempting destination and benefit all the local businesses. Quite honestly I'm amazed that this is something there needs to be a petition for.
