Bernice LampleyI am in agreement with the fackelman family and feel that this case is in dire need of a second look at the balances of injustice on the fackelman end. I am appaulded at how Charles Fackelman wasn't given a fair balance of penality against the very man that was instrumental in killing his son Randy Krell. How can Randy Krell get less of a sentence in a case that he knowingly ingested alcohol, inflicked anger with a weapon of destruction, a car and aimed that out ward anger toward a car of innocent students, strangers that ended after many miles in death of one and paralyse of another student. The measure of intent and frame of mind was two different measures and a grave imbalance when you compare the two cases. Charles Fackelman was in pain from dealing with tauntings from Mr krell when he was dealing with the unthinkable lose of his son, trying to cope, under terrible stress, and in my opinion was no longer able to mentally cope with the trauma. My opinion has a nervous breakdown and now is being penalized with more severity than the man Mr Krell, that man that KILLED. Please I beg you to take a look at this case to see if it deamd a retrial or considersation for a much reduced sentence.

Arnie ReaperIf the jurors admit confusion this is a mistrial by all right and should be redone and the first verdict thrown out.

dawn ruedisueliI think this sentence is very unjust. this family has already suffered enough. he made a bad choice, no one was hurt by his actions. i don't think this is the help charles or his family needs.

Connie GleaveYour Honor: I could literally write a book about recent jury decisions across the U.S.A. and how justice seems to be hiding it head while injustice continues to rule the day. Your Honor, I had a brother who was killed in a car accident over 35 yrs. ago in Toledo, Ohio. I watched, as a 15 yr. old, what a toll his death took on my parents. I have vivid memories of the anger and distress that plagued them from having to bury their only son and the sadness that permeated the entire family. Mr. Krell's actions of chasing a car full of young boys, with a lethal weapon, because of a water bottle thrown on the street can only be characterized by arrogance and vanity. His actions resulted in the death of one and the paralyzation of another. Mr. Krell's arrogance was also prevalent when he left the scene of the accident after the boys hit the tree. He received only a 6 month sentence for his actions. Where is justice? Your Honor, I'm sure you understand that Mr. Fackelman's actions were carried out in grief and despair and that ultimately and thankfully no one was injured from his threats. I also believe that Mr. Fackelman is no longer threat to anyone. Governor Granholm, I plead with you to stop the madness and the injustice that has been handed down in this case. I respectfully request that you commute Mr. Fackelman's 6 year sentence. Thank you for considering this petition.

AnonymousI agree that jail is not the correct coarse of action in this case. He doesn't need punishment, he needs help. JJT

AnonymousI am very disturbed by the lack of justice that has occured here. As the parent of two beautiful children, I can only imagine how distraught Charles was after the wrongful death of his son.

Anna AxeThis is the saddest case in the world >This jusge only wanted to make a spectical of Mr Fackleman . I beleive because he is personal friends of Randy Krell. Give this man probation and let him get the help he needs. Maybe if Mr Krell would have been honest from the beginning and expressed his sorry to the fackelman for their loss things would be differnet.
Joseph KassmannI have already sent a letter to Gov. Granholm requesting action.

Julia AxePlease offer some hope for this grieving family who has been torn apart for the second time in less than two years. They need to be together to grieve the loss of their son/brother, Charlie. Mr. Fackelman does not need prison, he needs to continue the mental health services he was receiving prior to his conviction. Please consider the "sentence" he has already been served when his son was taken tragically at a young age due to the irresponsibilty of a grown man.

Kim FinneganI know Charles and Janet Fackleman through The Focus grief meetings at Flower Hospital. Losing a child is a life changing event. Please help Charles Fackleman and his family.
Jacob WhitemanThis is a very unfortunate imbalance of justice. While nobody should condone Mr. Fackelman's actions, I fail to see the logic behind the disparity in punishment of Mr. Fackelman and Mr. Krell. While one can never retrieve the life of the young man killed, I believe it that we can all empathize with Mr. Fackleman's unenviable position. It is hard to imagine the severe emotional distress and anguish of a parent who has had to bury a son. And yes, it is equally hard to justify his actions so long after the fact. But I find it simple to recognize that the actions of Mr. Krell were far more damaging than that of Mr. Fackelman. Since it is against our laws to retroactively add punishment to Mr. Krell for the actions that caused Mr. Fackelman's reaction, I believe it is completely just to - at the very least - reduce the punishment of Mr. Fackelman to a sentence equal to less than that of Mr. Krell.

Kristen KameleskyThis is completely unjust. I don't feel that anyone has a heart who puts this man behind bars while the other walks free. Mr. Fackleman never hurt anyone, however Mr. Krell killed one and paralyzed another because of his road rage. I see clips from trials on the news and Mr. Krell stands there with a smurk on his face that just makes me sick. If this is how our court system works then there is a major problem. I have no respect for anyone who is responsible for these sentences on these two men. Mr. Krell should be behind bars...NOT Mr. Fackleman. I am not saying that what Mr. Fackleman did was right, but something needs done with the punishment he is facing. He should have been the one serving a few months, he didn't hurt a soul. Mr. Krell does not care what he did to these kids, he cruel, cold and heartless. This angers me so much that he walks free while this father who lost his son because of that man's actions has to be behind bars when he should be with family mourning the death of his son. This was NO accident! Mr. Krell chased them for MILES...saw the crash and left!!! How would you feel if this was YOUR child that was killed or paralyzed and this man walks free?! JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED!!!!
Michelle Kory
Donna FackelmanI definately agree to this action
Robin AxeThis sentence is completely outrageous! He never even hurt anyone - or intended to. At any chance he had--Mr. Krell would serenely "smile" at Mr. Fackelman. Mr Fackelman went about things the wrong way, but only wanted Mr. Krell to admit to his guilt. He was driven to do so. Mr. Krell used his car as a weapon and KILLED and PARALYZED two teens in the infancy of their lives!!! He served under 6 months. What a PITIFUL justice system!!!!!!!!!
Charles J. FackelmanHope no one else ever has to go thru the tragedy we have.
