Joni Shaughnessyi've rescued both puppies and breeding adult dogs. It is heartbreaking! Unfortunately, I have little faith in humans stopping it because humans are the ones who perpetuate it. They don't want a loving friend, they want a "status" dog.

AnonymousI think this is an awsome idea and I totaly support it, but seeing your trying to stop puppy mills wouldn't it be better for them to go to a pet store instead of living in the horrible conditions of a puppy mill? That's just a thought, but if you stop puppy mills that i know would stop the pet stores from buying them, but for the time being you should let the stores buy them it would give them a chance for a better home.
beth casselmanPLEASE do whatever necessary to end these horrid puppy mills. We are the proud guardians of 6 puppy mill rescues from the South.

Katherine SchwirzinskiPuppy mils are terrible operations that use dogs up and throw them away like they are trash, this practice must be stopped.
Pamela FiorettiPuppy mills are a preventable cause of untold misery and suffering for defenceless animals.
MackWe need more animal rights to step up to the plate and be able to shut ALL puppy mills and farms down, and to stop the sales of dogs in pet shops.
Betty Jean HernerStop Puppy Mills as a business. Stop puppy Mills forever. There is to much abuse at pupy mills

Karen BakerWe want them shut down in Ohio too. Thanks for your efforts.
Annie MillironPuppy Mills are not concerned in breeding happy healthy dogs. They are breeding for quanitity and not quality. Conditions are inhumane and cruel. The puppies produced are often quite ill. This needs to stop NOW!
Sara Thomethe pet population is already booming out of control. Look at New York City...They have the worst, most inhumane pet problem in the country. We need to stop the slaughter. Shutting down puppy mills and educating the public about the cruelty that occurs in the shelters is the only way to stop the halocaust against them.

Sharon HinesAs a responsible, experienced toy dog rescuer in the state of Ohio since 2000, I have seen the horrors of life in puppy mills. At this very moment, a 10 y/o p.m rescue shih tzu female is in vet hospital for 2-3 days, possibly dying from internal infection in her female organs, the results of overbreeding for 10 years with NO VET CARE all in the name of GREED! PLEASE STOP THIS INHUMANE PRACTICE IN THE USA! PLEASE SHUT DOWN ALL MILLERS AND STOP LICENSING PET STORES TO SELL LIVE PETS!
phyllis gasparriEveryone must sign this, this is an outrage to all animals and pets. They have feeling and rights!!
Edie LarsonThere are literally tens of millions of wonderful companion animals being killed in shelters throughout the United States. Buying animals from mills and backyard breeders directly supports the killing of these precious lives. It is shameful.

Annette ThompsonPuppy Mills generate thousands of unhealthy, poorly bred puppies every year. These puppies are sold at high prices by pet stores to unsuspecting consumers whose hearts are broken when they realize they have bought a very poor specimen of a purebred dog - one whose life will most likely be shortened by any number of genetic defects. The parents of these puppies live in horrible conditions, being bred each heat cycle, having NO interaction with a compassionate human, and no basic medical care. Adult dogs from these mills never have dental care, are not kept clean, and are only income producing property for the owners. Puppy Mills are CRIMINAL.
Amy MaloneAnything we can do to stop the puppy mill operations in America is crucial to our society. The pet overpopulation crisis is out of control, we must inform people as to where the puppy in thier local petstore in in thier newspaper come from.

kathy dawsonPuppy mills have got to be closed down ---- please stop this atrocity to puppys and kittens ----- close them down - it is disgusting.
Mary LeresIf anyone in Congress bought a puppy from a PUPPY MILL, they'd get rid of all of that type breeder. The females are put in small cages, bred as often as possible. They live in horrible conditions and I wonder what happens to them when they can no longer produce. I can only guess and its sick!
Kathleen StephensonThis bill and the bill to stop Horse Slaughter are so close to my heart. PLEASE HELP THESE CREATURES OF GOD BY PASSING THESE BILLS. This horror has gone on way to long for the greed of human beings.
Betty LaynePlease stop the cruelty that God's creatures are going through because of the irresponsibility of man kind. It is just cruel.
