This year Texas Tech University has announced that our Spring Break dates will be March 15 through March 23. If you have not yet noticed, our neighboring Texas schools, such as Texas A&M, UT, and Texas State, are hosting their Spring Break's March 9 through March 16. Spring Break is a time when we can get away from the stresses of school and work and spend time with the friends and family we do not get to see too often due to the location of our beloved school. Like myself, I know many of my fellow Red Raiders have close friends that attend other schools and Spring Break is a time when we can come together to see them for a short while. With our Spring Break being the week after practically every other school in the state of Texas, this will make it impossible to celebrate this time with friends. For many of us Red Raiders this may be our last Spring Break as we approach graduation in May or December. This is a time to create memories with our friends, and we cannot do that without everyone's help. I am asking you to help me reach out to our school's administrators and Student Government Association so that we may be heard.
There is just no logical explanation as to why it isn't the same week as the rest of the state.
I'm not a student; however, I am a teacher who was hoping to see her granddaughter over spring break. Ours is the week before yours--please, for families, please consider changing the dates to the week that most other schools and colleges in Texas use. Thank you!
This is ridiculous!!!!! My friends go to different schools here in Lubbock, this isn't fair!
