Change to Police Officers' shift pattern
Police officers in the Metropolitan Police Service, including those who have seen twenty years of service, reports that the current shift pattern for LPT officers is the worst they have experienced. Current LPT modesl does not justify the constant use of a shift pattern, further more the shift pattern LPT officers are on is not user friendly. LPT officers can work effeicently on a 9-5 Monday to Saturday pattern, or a 12 hour shift pattern on week days (night shifts are not needed for LTP except if they are on Friday/Saturday town centre night duty where they can be rostered in). Current shift pattern for LPT has significant negative impact on work/life balance and force morale. It needs to be changed to a pattern that reflect the LPT officers' role!
