I respectfully call upon the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors to reject the request for rezoning of the Mullins Farm on Chancellorsville Battlefield. As you well know, this 790-acre tract of land played an integral part in the epic battle. I believe the traffic and sprawl that this proposed development would generate will significantly degrade if not destroy the integrity of the existing battlefield. As Civil War heritage tourism brings millions of dollars annually to Spotsylvania County, I would counsel you to closely guard the resource you currently have. The economic well being of the citizens of your county may hinge on your decision. Chancellorsville Battlefield is truly a national treasure. It belongs to all Americans, and I entreat you, as a fellow American, to keep this in mind as you deliberate its future. Thank you.

Reaching one hundred signatures reminds me that many people still deeply value the preservation of our shared history. It is encouraging to see this many individuals recognize the importance of protecting the integrity of the Chancellorsville site.

My great-great-grandfather fought there. It is a grave site and should be treated with respect not turned into houses.

Stop the greed. This land is part of who we are.

The traffic down that road is a nightmare as it is. Adding a massive development will just make it impossible to get anywhere.

Keep history alive. Once you build over it you can never get it back.

PLEASE NO MORE STRIP MALLS. We have enough empty buildings in this county already. Leave the hallowed ground alone.
