    Comments: I have Cystic Fibrosis and went 8 weeks without being diagnosed. Had I been diagnosed with newborn screening I could have been treated from the start and not been listed as failure to thrive because I only gained 2oz in 2 months.

    Comments: As a loving brother of someone afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis, I can't begin to express how much it angers me that children experience additional suffering as well as lung and or digestive-system damage from this disease when these consequences can be minimized by a screening process at birth. As is stated in the third paragraph of this petition, early detection can significantly improve both the treatment and quality of life of those touched by CF.

    Comments: I was diagnosed with CF at 9 months. By then a lot of damage was already done - I have had to deal with that for the rest of my life. Please give CF children in Nova Scotia a better start - which is a better and healthier and more productive life.
