Comments: As a person with CF, I can tell you the first 9 months without a diagnosis almost killed me. This is important, and it could be your child who gets screened and noticed, instead of wasting away in front of your eyes!

Comments: My grand daughter Grace will be seven this coming April. When she was born it took more than two months before the hospital was able to diagnose Grace's condition. During that time she was in a lot of discomfort and was subjected to a multitude of unnecessary painful tests. Had she been diagnosed properly at birth, she could have been immediately cared for properly and made more comfortable. This decision should be easy to make based on the prevalence of the disease in our country.

Comments: Such a simple test to run... why not help new parents know if their newborn is impacted before they have to wade through all the challenges of figuring things out for themselves?

Comments: as a physician involved with CF for decades I have seen the difference newborn screening makes to the start-in-life given to those infants who are diagnosed through screening compared to those diagnosed with malnutrition

Comments: I live in Ontario and my son was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis from the Newborn Screening and I thank god everyday that it was caught as early as it was. All babies should be tested because it makes so much difference in the long run.

Comments: I have a daughter with C.F. and was very sick at birth and for her first 6 weeks. If that test would have been done at birth, we would have known right away, because she was tested for C.F. only at 6 weeks old.
