The child had care and early intervention and has a chance at life. Please give the children of your province the same chance at a close to normal life and longevity. Name: Sarah Greenham on Jan 23, 2013Comments: My friends have 2 little boys with CF, their first born was so sick his first year of life always at the Dr to try to find out what was wrong. Just before his 1st birthday they found out he had CF and ended up spending the next year living at the IWK, this was due to major digestive issues. If he was screened at birth this could have maybe be all eliminated. This family went through such a difficult time. His younger brother was born and they found out he had CF in the 1st two weeks of his life. his life has been the opposite to his brothers.....they go through so much each and everyday and are constantly reminded of their disease each and everyday. The more we can do for them the better. Please consider this!Flag

I assure you, watching a good friend die from such an affliction is one of the hardest things I have had to do in my life. If this will help improve quality of life, assist in lessening the pain and discomfort levels, why wait? These babies are real people and are loved; who knows, one day it could be your child, or grandchild who is suffering. DO IT!!Flag

Name: Stephanie Duke on Jan 23, 2013Comments: It took me 4 1/2 years of going from one doctor to the next, begging them to please listen to me when I said that something was wrong with my daughter - 4 1/2 years to finally get a diagnosis and start treatment. Can you imagine the damage that was already done to her lungs in that time because they didn't do the CF screaning in Ontario at that time? No child or parent deserves to go through this. Please bring CF newborn screening to EVERY Canadian province. Thank you.Flag
