We feel that there is a conflict of interest between the Central Oklahoma humane society and the Oklahoma state board of commercial pet breeders. The reason for this conflict of interest is because the president of the Central Oklahoma humane society is Christy Counts. She is also the vice-chair of the Oklahoma commercial pet breeders board. This board regulates the breeding of pet animals in Oklahoma. Ms. Counts is using her humane organization to help sway the upcoming vote on Oklahoma HB2921. This bill repeals the commercial pet breeders board. We feel Ms. Counts should not be using her private organization for this purpose and also be on the board that this bill will have an affect on.
