Comments: It has been way too long that this issue continues to divide our two communities. Keeping this street closed only displaces traffic concerns to other streets and intersections.

Comments: Center Street should be open, as should 250 south and we need more access to the DATC and Davis High.

Comments: This street has been closed far too long. It's time to put old grudges from previous generations behind us on this issue. It's time to do what's in the best interest of the community as a whole.

Comments: Some of us cannot even figure out what they were thinking when they did not connect these two streets in the first place. 2nd North would sure not be mush of a street if the same planners had any say in that decision!

Comments: Connection of Center Street is a critical life safety issue. I only hope that the residents of Kaysville and the Kaysville City elected officials will allow this connection as an unselfish, good neighborhood assistance to a sister City. Increased traffic flow will be minimal; but the increased emergency protection will be great.

Comments: I did not grow up in Kaysville or Fruit Heights, and as an outsider coming in I am disgusted by this debate. It's so obvious that Center Street should be opened! The Kaysville City Council has an obligation to do what's right for the community instead of giving in to public clamour! We voted the council in, and expect them to do their job. I know the City Staff has recommended this throughway, and the council continues to ignore it. I lived in the neighborhood in Kaysville affected by Center Street for more than a year, and from first hand experience know that this road is needed!

Comments: It is vital to our safety to open Center/Country Street and for 30 years we have waited for this to be done. Please give us another access, the more roads people have the better for all. Don't let a few folks who live on that road impact our very lives for safety to get us emergency vehicles quickly. Kaysville will be benefited as well because of the traffic on other roads. Do you not want us to shopin Kaysville or help in any way. Open the Road!!

Comments: I can't understand why there is any controversy over this road. Anyone can see that it was meant to be - probably because it's necessary and makes sense. Sometimes developers build homes where roads should be and sometimes they build roads where homes should be, but when a road is already there, why block it Why put up ugly barriers Access is vitally important.

Comments: Our feeling is by openning Center street is will allow traffic to be dispursed more evenly for the Fruit Heights residences. Our street on 150 South is very busy, especially when school is in session.

Comments: I believe in the philosophy that stubbed roads should be connected. If municipalities were to never follow through on plans to connect stubbed roads in subdivisions, imagine the traffic mess we would be in. I support the connection of center street. I feel there should be no more special consideration for it than any other street whose connection is/has been planned.

Comments: The benefits of opening Center Street outweigh the increased traffic down-side - especially given that I-89 access is going to close. 2-3 minutes faster in emergency access to my neighborhood could mean the difference between live and death. Yes, it would increase traffic as kids cross center street going to Burton - but when I-89 access closes, the increase seems like it will be minimal. To me, Kaysville and Fruit Heights are almost the same city... I welcome better access between the two.

Comments: Closing Center Street is a selfish act on the part of the few people who live near and on that street. Many people could be put in danger of losing their lives, their homes, their families if the fire or disaster crews could not reach them and they had no way out from that area of Fruit Heights. And It would appear the City of Kaysville could be sued for not being able to provide the protection those residents are currently entitled to receive. Traffic needs to be alleviated from 2nd North and 2nd South. Hundreds of school children have to cross those roads to attend school at Burton Elementary as well as the other schools, and all you as city council members would need to do is sit at the school during the morning, noon, and afternoon hours when they are coming and going to see the great danger that exist already because of the amount of traffic that is on 200 South at those hours. Center Street was mean to be a through street and closing it would be far from in favor of the most residents of Kaysville. Thank You

Comments: Not having this street open is a safty issue. IT SHOULD BE OPEN. In 1984 we had a fire in our home, at that time we lived on Raymond Rd & the Kaysville fire department came up to the dead end and was delayed by a lot of time getting to our home.
