Comments: We must preserve our heritage. Including cemetaries. For respect of the long passed and respect of the family that still live.

Comments: I am the president of a the Ray Township Historical Society. Within our community, we are experiencing the decline of a cemetery that has many of our community founding fathers buied in it. Over the years, it was damaged and our local government does not have the funds to maintain or repair it. We feel that it is our responsibility of the community to maintain the resting places of our fellow residents, just as we would hope future residents would do the same for us. It is very difficult as a historical society to find the funds to do this ourselves, especially since we are from such a small community. Our township governemt has actually discussed abandoning the cemetery and covering over the remaining graves! That's unforgivable! We strongly urge you to consider passing the Crusdaer Act into law.

Comments: There are graves that are older than a 100 years, but we have problems trying to get the level of advocacy to where it is a threat to those who are elected to office. I am a Waganakising Odawa Indian Elder and the graves of our ancestors are being desecrated almost daily.

Comments: No cemetery should be land locked. If they are they need to opened up. This is the fault of the townships that they are in.

Comments: Everyone's heritage needs to be preserved for future generations. These people must NOT be forgotten. It is an abhorration that some of the landlocked cemeteries are being neglected due to inaccessibility by greedy, spiteful landowners.
