For those passengers who have sailed on cruise lines in the past, there is absolutely no doubt that a cruise vacation is the best value for couples, individuals, groups, and families. But with so many new ports, destinations and on-board amenities why is it that only 24% of the U.S. population (CLIA's 2011 Cruise Market Profile Study) has chosen to cruise before? Well, for the millions of Americans with Celiac Disease or Gluten Intolerance, there is an extreme fear that there will be no gluten free choices on-board. Furthermore, there is a the anxiety that is associated with being sick on the high seas in the event that a passenger is glutened.
For those of us Celiacs who have sailed before, we know that the ships' Executive Chefs couldn't be more gluten-free-friendly. But, convincing the rest of the 76% of the U.S. population that the cruise industry is a partner in living a healthy gluten free lifestyle on the seas is still a large unknown.
That is why we feel a dedicated gluten free cruise would be ideal for many people who suffer from Celiac, have gluten sensitivity or simply follow a gluten free lifestyle. Additionally, it will raise awareness of the cruise industry's desire to satisfy this ever growing target's mandatory dietary needs. In turn, the industry will be able to convince the other 76% of the population that a cruise is, indeed, a safe vacation decision for any group that has at least one Celiac involved in the purchasing decision.
We, the undersigned, would be interested in vacationing on a Gluten Free cruise. We understand that are names and addresses may be shared with a cruise line in the hopes that a dedicated gluten free cruise is scheduled.
