Martin Luther King, Jr. was a leader of change. Change which lead to the Civil Rights Act of 1964. This act has been and continues to be the source of reference when people feel they are discriminated against in society. If you are a minority, low income, gay, disabled or all of the above...he fought for you! The City of Portage and our schools should acknowledge the work that Martin Luther King, Jr. did to make this country a better place. We can't let his legacy die. He has done so much for us. We owe it to our future generations to make sure that his legacy continues to live with us and through us. Portage residents, please sign this petition if this means something to you. His legacy should continue.
