Name: Neeva Stephen on Aug 24, 2007Comments: I have several personal experiences with the inequalities of the child support system, from my husband and brother trying their best to do the right thing, to my sister on the other end not receiving what she should. This system needs a complete overhaul to ensure fairness for all, especially the children!Flag

Why should children from a previous relationship hinder the future happiness of any parent Why should a loving, caring father be denied the right to see his child but still have to pay such a large amount of money to the person stopping the accessFlag

I have lost my job to an unfair dismissal that could not be disputed... that's another story I am about to go bankrupt, my ex has decided that she will scrap the cash in hand agreement because she want's to hit me hard with child support because I wont take her back. That's just the tip of the ice berg feel free to e mail me if you would like to know more.Flag

Name: Michelle Reddy on Jan 16, 2008Comments: I'm a mother without her four children. My four children live with their father over time he has manipulated my 3 boys to not talk to me plus have left them thinking i'm a bad person. I've not seen them or spoken to them in over 12 months. As for my little girl he only allows me to talk to her once a week on a Sunday afternoon. I've also not seen her in 12 months. My ex husband refuses to inform me of anything in regards to my childrens health, education and general well being. He has completely alienated them of me. Every effort i make to see the he for an excuse. What hurts me is i pay my child support on time whilst he and his partner are both unemployed yet our four children are at school, somewhere the government and CSA have to look at the whole picture. Plus there are no court orders or crimminal records on my behalf yet i get fined if my payments are late.Flag

Name: Melonie Johnson on Jul 2, 2008Comments: My husband has received sooooo much stress from child support over the years, he's already had ONE heart attack, and every time he rings them he get chest pain, and they don't care. We've been told NOT to get married, move to cheaper area to live which is full of crime with my children to give his ex more money, sell our car, me to get a job and car to work to pay more support to his ex. child support don't care all all, about us. I get child support from my ex and it's paying my husband's ex. and recently we have been threatened by child support to do the right thing when we challenged the maintenance amount. And also my money is decreasing...as well and his went up. I'm starving my children for child support and that's definitely NOT on!Flag

Name: Renee on Oct 17, 2011Comments: The child support formula is NOT based on just the gross income. It is based upon the COMBINED TAXABLE INCOME minus the SELF-SUPPORT amount, and also taking into consideration what percentage of care you have the kid(s). There are many ways people can reduce their Taxable Income especially if you have your own business. I support the new child support formula and believe that it should not be a 50%-50% income split but more a 40%-60% split (60% being the woman is entitled to 60% of the total combined taxable income). My reason being that women sacrifice more than men do for the duties of child rearing, being the emotional support for the kids, and the Family Courts agree as most of the time women receive 60% of the assets after a separation.Flag

Losing your kids , your home and all the emotional baggage that goes along with divorce. Let's give men a fair go . Don't rip them with this thing called Child Support. It needs to be looked at and made fair so men too can have a life after divorce .Flag
