my freinds fellow student body members it has come to my attention that the school has not changed not one outdated rule; that they care not for the students education. that they do not care about quality but how cheap it is. they rather would not care about what we think when there is a situation that obviously involve us. while a small percentage of us lack the mental maturity most of us have it. locally all of the schools affairs are handled by the principal and his/her two advisors. leading to a trivumerate. and what of the student council you ask it is merely a façade. when was the last time that any of the councilmembers had any say in an important decision if we have to either suffer or benafit we should have a say in it. we should have our voices be heard! let us challenge cherokee county to be able to have a say in our education. let us creat a new council in sequoyah that has more power and an actual say in the affairs. we are the genaration that is going through this and the archaic system of absolute power to the school board is not meant for us. not when they are changing our curriculum to be able to pay off some campaign supporters money. not when there are budget cuts around the corner. and so i challenge CCSD to allow A student republic have a say in their decisions. . and i challenge them that it will improve the student's dispsoition if they try it out for one year and i challenge YOU to help this dream of mine become a reality.
