Council Bluffs, IA Ice Skating Arena

We believe the Southwest Iowa area is underserved by the lack of a full time Ice Rink Arena. We believe the interest is high for a local arena that will make ice skating activities more accessible for Southwest Iowa residents. It will serve the current interest as well as foster greater awareness and economic support for startup of local recreational skating, figure skating associations, and hockey leagues for all skill and age levels. Additionally, it will increase the fan/support base for our local USHL Lancer hockey team. This will create heightened recognition of our region as well as the economic benefits of successfully supported USHL team. Our goal is a high quality, functionally versatile Ice Rink Arena that is naturally tied-in with the local government, I-80 corridor, local sports associations, and local USHL Lancers hockey team.

We are a loose group of local professionals who support and strongly believe in the health, educational, community, and economic benefits that are a natural outcome of a high quality, functionally versatile Ice Rink Arena. We are coming together to demonstrate the high level of local interest in this type of facility in Southwest Iowa to the local government, local sports associations, and potential funding sources in the process of moving this initiative forward

  • Anonymous Council Bluffs needs an outdoor/indoor skating rink, that can potentially be used as a water park for children in the summer or a playground.
