101 01The CBC must represent us or disband!

103 01I think that the CBC lack of support for Zimbabwe should also be placed on the agenda. In 2002 they refused to be the official monitors to the presidential elections because the Zimbabwean government refused to let the U.S. government be so. The NAACP step up but still has not publicly released the report. I am a member of the NAACP so I speak as a member.

110 01It is imperative that the CBC stand tall above the rest and lead in the direction Rev M.L. King, Jr envisioned. I'm sure the voting public insists on nothing less to rid our country the horrors of the past. If you lead, we will follow.
111 01hello, I have actually worked on a hurricane shelter in Baton Rouge after Katrina & Rita flooded New Orleans & left tons of black folks as refugees with sad FEMA bungled-red-tape & difficult, unresponsive attitudes to fixing the levees for future flooding---these people are now disperesed nationally, with many problems & lack of housing in New Orleans forcing families apart for who knows how long---all due to money set aside to fix the levees that was taken ONLY 1 year before the hurricanes in order to add to our budget woes in Iraq...it's horrible that we are the richest country in the world's history yet we couldn't even follow through on levee upgrades & still can't house the displaced people with affordable loans & grants & get that city back to a REAL level of functionality....how many more Gulf Coastal areas need to be devastated until some politician decides to be their friend as opposed to running up TRILLIONS of dollars of deficit that is only leading Iraq into the hands of the biggest terrorist recruiting zone in history---are our policies indeed that self-defeating??

Please stand up and shout out on our behalf. Peace, Justice, Blessings and Power for all peoples and survival for all species.
118 01It is imperative that the federal government do whatever is in its power to improve the education of black youth in order to prepare them for gainful employment, not merely jobs as drug pushers, the armed forces, or McDonalds.

130 01I could not agree more with everything said in this petition. I would add only an all-out, nationwide ban on further building of any coal-fired power plants, and U.S. support for the U.N. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

137 01every where we read and understand that the entire party of democrats are dancing with the enemy, and yet even the alternative options, the greens, peace and freedom party, etc are yet to convince the mass that they are more sensitive to the black, brown, women's community... yet, it is imperative that we groom our own local grass roots movers and shakers to take lead fulfilling this need. i say, harry belafonte for president! danny glover, cynthia mckenney, congresswoman barbara lee... mayor ron dellums! what is your list? let's get our people elected...

144 01We count on you. Yes, even us white and Indian women up here in rural California. We respect you and you are our leaders - the CBC. You're always right (on). That's because you and we are on the same side, which is supporting a better and more reasonable life style that supports Life, continuing life on earth, to be precise, and even supporting organic community gardens or enough land in the back yard to have a small garden. Is that too much to ask? I think not. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That's the deal and that's what all of us want. These commitments, so petitioned, are completely compatible with your values. So dear reps, dear CBC, you're the ones, and we have high hopes you'll follow your common sense and hearts, and keep us all safe and well and able to do good work for our families, our community, and for this world. Signed: One of ythe millions of your supporters. I'll be watching you on C-Span, and reading of your work and words on the Internet.

146 01It is time to STOP taking the corporate dollars and RECOMMIT yourselves to PUBLIC SERVICE. You have to take a stand for us or we'll end up no better off than we were in the 40s and 50s. Stop the hob-knobbing, roll up your sleeves and get back to the community to find out what is important to us, not what is important to you personally.
